How To Increase Traffic On A Blog?

So, you have finally started a blog and working day and night to grow it but you’re confused why there is no traffic? Well, don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Almost every blogger faces these issues at the start of their career. Not getting traffic is very frustrating and sometimes this frustration is enough for a majority of bloggers to give up. Anyways here is our guide on How to increase traffic on a blog?

It’s not easy to get your blog noticed by Google, increasing traffic on a blog is an art in itself. It requires tonnes of strategies, pieces of content, and dedication.

And believe me, this piece of content will help you to know top 10 ways to increase traffic on a blog:

1) Be sure about your niche

This is something that I’ve been screaming to my students my entire life. Always be clear about your niche. if you really want to grow your blog and more importantly want it to sustain for a long time then always focus on a single niche. Don’t try to become a news website.

If you want to write about fitness, traveling, food blogging, or anything, just keep your content revolved around that. Even Google has made it clear that the website that focuses on a single topic tends to rank higher than the ones which post content random topics. So, be sure about your niche and keep your content centered to that niche.

2) Write more and more content

The more you write the more chances you’ll have to rank. This is a very simple rule in blogging if you want to grow a blog. Write at least two articles in a week. And believe me, google loves the websites that post consistent content.

Anyways here is how it will help you increase traffic on a blog:

1) It will connect to your audience that is coming back to your site.

2) It will boost your search engine rankings.

3) Pick popular topics

Write on trending and popular topics especially when you’re getting started. Pick some of the most popular topics of your niche and write superb content on them. Also, try to write on trending topics as soon as possible.

4) Incorporate backlinks

Backlinks are the most important factor when it comes to getting traffic on a blog. Backlinks are the links that connect one page of a website to another website.

Let me tell you how it is going to help-

  1. backlinks act as an upvote from another website to your website.
  2. Backlinks help to get referral traffic.
  3. Also, helps in increasing the authority of the blog.

But how to make backlinks? From where to get backlinks? Well, all of these questions are answered here- How to make quality backlinks

5) Promote through social media

One of the best and easiest ways to increase traffic on a blog is social media.

Simply you can share your blog link on sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. And in the case of Instagram, you can create a post for your blog and provide a link in your bio and if you have 10k followers then you can directly share your link to your story. But if that was so easy to bring traffic from social media then everyone could have done it, right?

You will have to be creative with the blog copy that you are posting on. It must intrigue the audience to read more.

You can even run paid social media ads to bring traffic to your blog if you have that liberty.

And you know what, being consistent on your social media platforms will not only increase your blog traffic but will also help you to build a brand that stands out from the rest.

6) Invite guest contributors

Guest contributor means other people who are going to post on your blog for free in the greed of a backlink. I know it sounds cheap but this is what everyone out there is doing. You are going to invite other fellow bloggers (of the same niche) to post content on your blog and in exchange, you will give them a backlink.

First of all, this will help you to content without any effort, and secondly, it will immensely help you in networking.

7) Invest in PPC

Sometimes traditional ways of bringing traffic to a blog don’t work!

In that case, you gotta give it a little push using paid campaigns. but always remember to collect the emails of the visitors when you’re running ads so that you can target them once again via email marketing.

For paid campaigns, you can use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Google ads.

8) Write guest posts

Just like you invite other bloggers to post on your site, you also have to post on other’s websites. That is called guest posting. Write a fresh piece of content, embed a backlink with desired anchor text, and shoot it off to other websites of the same niche.

It’s a win-win situation for both sites. As your blog is getting a backlink along with some referral traffic while the other website is getting free content without any efforts.

9) Cross-promote to your mailing list

One of the best ways to bring traffic to a blog is email marketing. You can embed a pop form on your website to collect emails. So that you can promote your blog post with your email subscribers as well.

Whenever you post a new blog, you can shoot a mail to your email subscribers mentioning a link to your new blog.

But again building an email list from scratch is not an easy task! Do some sort of giveaway or something that can trigger the visitors to give their email addresses to you. Though, here is our guide on how to build an email list from scratch.

10) Build an online community

Building a community is again one of the most important things that you have to do in your blogging journey. Make Facebook or a telegram group, invite people to join those groups, provide insane value in form of freebies, resources, etc and keep repeating the process.

This loyal community will act as a catalyst to your website traffic and will also buy the products that you’re going to launch in the future.

Another benefit of building an online community is, you can get new ideas, can communicate with your audience, and share your enthusiasm.

I hope now you have a decent idea of what you have to do to bring traffic to your blog. Blogging is a long-term game it takes to grow a blog even if you follow these tips. So, stay patient and keep doing whatever I’ve told you in this blog.
